Laughing Moon: General Recommendation: Highly Recommended
#100 Ladies Victorian Underwear: I made the Silverado Corset and the chemise. The silverado corset was easy to put together, and the bust gores really helped out. ;) However, despite the fact that I cut the smallest size, it was still too big, and I could lace it shut. I'm not that small, either. I also had issues with it creating a tubuar shape on me, which I didn't like. So thus, I ended up adding gores to the top and bottom to allow a more hourglass figure. Despite the whole issue with the arm hole, this chemise went together easily for me. The arm hole was perfect, but I am a small person. I love this chemise, and use it every time.
Recommendation: Highly Recommended
Simplicity Patterns: General Recommendation:Recommended
Simplicity 4902: I made this costume, or tried to, for a friend. We only used views D(bodice) and C(skirt). The bodice fit alright, but still had to have a few major adjustments. The skirt was a nightmare. Despite cutting out the right size, there weren't enough ruffles, and it didn't look anything like the picture when it was finished. Plus, the georgette material was painful to work with.
Recommendation: Not Recommended. You could do better drafting it yourself.
Simplicity 4479 (a.k.a. Christine's Masquerade Costume): I made the bodice up only for a show, and it went together alright. It just took some time and messing around with to fit properly. Typical simplicity experience.
Recommendation: Recommended.
Simplicity 5041 (Misses'/Miss Petite Puritan, Centennial and 18th & 19th Century Costumes): My very first costume! (I used the children's version, though). I LOVED this outfit, and still do. I used View A and was Laura Ingalls Wilder. Well, my mom mostly put it together for me, but the pattern was relatively simple. Although, I did need someone to help me fit the bodice correctly. The bonnet was a miracle to sew, and looks great, too. Very comfortable to wear.
Recommendation: Highly Recommended
Simplicity 5457 (Misses Victorian Day or Evening Dress with Train): I only made the bodice and underskirt for view B and the bustle pillow. The skirt was fairly easy to sew, average apperance. The bodice was an undescribeable nightmare. The fit was just terrible. I didn't like how the bust was huge, and the waist tiny despite the fact that I cut out my size. The bustle pillow went together quickly, but gave an odd appearance.
Recommendation: Recommended
Simplicity 9891 (Misses Costume Gowns): I used view C to make my arwen chse outfit, and it went together very well. Easy pattern to work with! And I was a beginner at sewing. The few pattern pieces make it easy to put together. The only difficulty was a collar, which I had to play around with, but that was because of my level of sewing. In general, just be sure to cut out the correct size, other wise it will definitely be too big. I love walking around in this outfit, it's so floaty! I also used View A's sleeves for my Eowyn Shieldmaiden outfit, and it went together beautifully.
Recommendation: Highly Recommended

TV121: 1897 Petticoat with Detachable Train: I love this pattern. Besides the endless amount of netting I had to put together, it was easy to go through. I just hope you have plenty of time and patience on your hands, because the netting can be overwhelming! Generally, the results were great, but as the netting grew flat, I had to add more. Note: Apparently, the Natural Form Petticoat in Pattern TV170 Victorian Petticoats will also give you the same effect.
Recommendation: Recommended
TV221: 1878 Tie-Back Underskirt: I didn't use the ties, but this skirt was easy to put together. Only took me a day!
Recommendation: Highly Recommended
TV422: 1881 Dinner Bodice: This was easy to put together and fit before I killed it when I made it into my wishing bodice. Follow the instructions to ensure the best fit, and you'll be fine. This one is my favorite. :)
