In a good way.
Well, I guess I should get this over with.
*Insert huge apology for being blatantly absent for the past two years.*
I love this website - and everyone who's ever supported it's endeavous. It's my baby, and it is NOT dead. It is only just beginning. :)
For everyone who HAS been hanging around - I can't thank you enough for keeping this forum going. It's been about five years since I started this little project. Did I ever dream that it would get this big? No! Did I hope it would? Of course. :) But without the support of many people, sadly many of whom can no longer check in so often, I would have never persisted in making this...what it is.
On the other hand, I've grown up with this website. Literally. My god...some of the earlier posts and things are downright embarassing. Believe me - I have changed ALOT in the past five years (five years? I still can't believe that...)
In my defense - I have never worked so hard in school. So, I guess I have somewhat of an excuse? *hides...*
On the plus side, I can drive now, and now that the great deadline of doom has passed, I have more freetime! I still have no money, which would account for why I have not been able to make any costumes lately, but there's alot more in store for Phantomess.com in the future.
Phantomess.com started out as a Phantom Movie Costume research site simply because none existed at the time. I have no idea how many people actually have benefited or come across the sight, but I guess I can say by the amount of emails I've gotten that it's been significant in people's wedding's and prom's (good lord....i hope i got the info right and excised all the typos!) And I'm glad it's been helpful to some.
On to the actual stuff, I will end my tirade now!
Some new things coming to Phantomess.com
1. A Blog: Okay...BEFORE you roll your eyes and go, "Oh god no..." I will say it is NOT going to be my personal life saga. No way... nooo waaayyy. No one needs to know more than what they already know, and I certainly won't be putting my life story up for the whole world, literally to see. You see, I've always wanted to write. Who knows if I'm good at it, but I've done some interesting interent based research projects, which I think it would be interesting to post the results of. And lo and behold - I finally have a place to do it!
2. A Review Section: Pattern reviews will be continued. And I'm a little embarassed to say this but...I'm branching out into Consumer reviews. Okay... so I'll admit, in my spare time when i'm not trying to kill myself with studying for a calculus test I don't understand, I watch some of the "beauty gurus" on youtube. While I'm not a big makeup wearer, it's interesting to watch. I no, there's no excuse. Well, not gonna lie, I have a ton of things I have opinions on, and I'm always trying to get the most out of my money because, well, I never have much! :) Why not put it on makeupalley.com or youtube? Well, makeupalley already has hundreds, and youtube is - there is no way I'm putting my face on there. And I have my own philosophies about makeup and products, coming from a medical background. In fact, I'm working on research project in school looking up common chemicals in popular cosmetics and household items. You'll see. Wow...this is a super long paragraph...
3. A few other...random...things
But - phantomess.com will always remain primarily a Phantom research website. Of course! That's what it was made for! All of these new additions will have their own update sections on the side. And hopefully, I can get a new layout out!
And a few things, in case anyone's been wondering.
1. I make NO money off of Phantomess.com. I do not sell or support ads. I can't stand them. It does cost a decent amount to run the website, not to mention hours of work, but the last thing I want is google impeding upon the functionality of my website and inappropriate ads I can't control running rampant. The exception is the chat box - which I don't mind.
2. As of now, I cannot take orders to make outfits. No time, sorry. And I don't think I've quite reached that level of sewing proficiency.
3. Yes, I did do all of it myself. I'm a self-starter and very curious worker. When I had the time, I would spend up to fourteen hours researching and working on the website.
I'm very excited about the new things coming up. I'm ending one significant part of my life, and about to start another one, and I want to makesure I get back into the system of updating this dear thing often.
Mini-updates will be going on on the website. Ebay pictures will be put up, and broken items will be fixed. So... stay tuned!

| Glad to see that the website is going to continue to have life. I've been more active over at phantomoftheopera.com, but I've visited the message board here to read a lot of sewing tips! So although my account is brand new, I've been here a lot. After reading this post, I finally registered - thanks for a great site, I hope to be more of a part of it now! |

| I'm glad to see that this website will continue to live. Like artistkae, I have visited this site quite a lot in order to get sewing tips, and to read the research that has been done on the various PotO costumes. My account is new, but I've been visiting the site for at least a year, possibly longer. I can't wait to see all of the new things that are going to happen! |
